Visitors to The Gathering in Edinburgh this weekend will get a sneak preview of Highland Heartbeat.  But for the world premiere, only one city in Scotland would do - Inverness, the Highland Capital.

After more than a year and a half of auditioning, planning and rehearsing, the final countdown has begun to the world premier of Highland Heartbeat, the exciting new live stage show with a distinctive Scottish feel.

...Being given the opportunity to join the show meant 21 year old Ross Davidson is now a step closer to achieving his childhood dream of becoming a full time singer and entertainer...."As a wee kid I used to sing along to tracks by great singers like Michael Jackson, but what I really wanted to do was write songs, so by the time I was about 10 I was writing my own songs and singing them.

"I joined Aberdeen Youth Musical Theatre and took part in their productions, improving all the time.  After leaving the Grammer School I joined GAMTA.

"Earlier this year I auditioned for Highland Heartbeat as I'd heard about the phenomenal success it was having in America and feel very lucky to have been asked to join the cast.

"The live show is a great misture of traditional and modern pieces, and is really a showcase for great Scottish music and musicians, with everyone from traditional Burn to Paolo Nutini included."

Ross, who sings solo and with other members of the cast, added, "I can't wait to go to America, but I'm also excited about performing at The Gathering in Edinburgh as that will be to a crowd of more than 50,000, and in Eden Court as Inverness really is at the heart of the Highlands."
